Index 03 - Aldgate East Station
Official version of events
There was no explosion at this station. The references to one were in error, attributable to the sound of the Liverpool Street to Aldgate Circle Line blast echoing down the tunnels.
Was there an explosion at the station?
Exhibits (AE1 - AE10)
All ten of these make reference to an explosion at, or in the vicinity of the station.
AE2, AE3 and AE4 seem particularly persuasive containing respectively statements from two named witnesses and an ambulance controller. It is clear that there was an explosion at or near Aldgate East Station. It may have been the one on the train referred to above.
